BPOM
Home – BPOM
BPOM stands for Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan, Indonesia’s Food and Drug Authority. It oversees categories including medicines, traditional medicines, health supplements, cosmetics and processed foods. BPOM registration or notification is the applicable product-authorization route, with requirements differing by category. Cosmetics, for example, use a notification system rather than the same registration process as medicines or processed foods.
BPOM authorization is separate from Izin Edar PKRT, which falls under the Ministry of Health. Businesses should confirm the product’s classification and responsible authority before applying. Registered or notified products can be checked through BPOM’s official Cek Produk database
